Sega announces the return of Sonic Adventure 2

The game that introduced Sonic’s arch rival, Shadow the Hedgehog, and was hailed as being one of the last great games on the Sega Dreamcast was just announced by Sega to be making a triumphant return on Playstation Network and Xbox LIVE Arcade.
If you’re not familiar with the Dreamcast classic, Dr. Eggman discovers the existence of a secret weapon, Shadow, in his grandfathers diary. After finding the dark hedgehog, Eggman is convinced to join forces with him after Shadow offers to help him take over the world. What ensues is a race to collect the Emerald shards, the crystals that Shadow plans to use to power a device to destroy the planet.
Sonic Adventure 2 has you playing as both characters, Sonic and Shadow, as well as four other characters, experiencing separate, interweaving story lines. The game, first released in 2001, will feature new high-definition graphics, leaderboards, achievement/trophy support, and “much more” when it releases on Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 later this year.
Unfortunately not much else has been confirmed for the game. But, as soon as more news is received, we’ll up date here at Nizulo. Did you ever get a chance to play this game? If so, aren’t you excited for it’s HD return? Let us know what you think in the comments section.
