Zone of the Enders HD Comic-Con goodies

Zone of the Enders HD Collection showed off some stunning new screenshots and a new, very meaty teaser trailer at Comic-Con today. The HD re-release will feature remastered versions of Zone of the Enders and Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner.
For those that may not be familiar with the series, it is an anime inspired action-mecha simulator game released by Konami and created by Metal Gear mastermind Hideo Kojima that, since it’s inception in 2000, has spawned two sequels and its very own anime. It features an anime storyline in which in the distant future earth has colonized mars and space colonies orbit Jupiter. After finding a high energy ore on one of Jupiter’s moons, the leaders of Earth begin to look down upon the colonists of Mars and Jupiter, dubbing them ‘Enders’ and placing harsh and laws and taxes upon them.
Tired of the oppression, the Enders rise up against their Earth overlords in rebellion. Trying to gain an upperhand, the Enders develop a new weapon using the ore Metatron, the Orbital Frames. After accidentally finding yourself piloting an Orbital Frame called Jehuty, your character Leo Stenbuck soon gets drawn into a conflict that will shape the destiny of Earth and it’s colonies.
For the HD re-release, Kojima Productions have recreacted the visuals from the original games. In addition, all of the anime cutscenes have been remastered to bring them up to today’s standard. In an effort to tie the two games together, Kojima Productions also teamed up with Sunrise to produce a brand new opening anime cinematic. Along with an increased framerate, ZOE HD also has improved audio tracks and an aspect ratio to match today’s television sets. Oh, and don’t worry, they haven’t forgotten about Trophy/Achievement support, it’s in there too!
Zone of the Enders HD Collection will be releasing some time in 2013 for Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. Also, anyone who purchases the HD collection will receive first dibs on the demo for Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance just like the original did with MGS2.
