Uncharted 3 Game of the Year Edition drops next month in Europe

Sony has just confirmed that Naughty Dog’s all-you-can-eat Game of the Year edition of Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception will be launching in Europe on September 19th.

Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception Game of the Year Edition will come jam packed with goodies, most of which is DLC that launched after the game’s initial release. Such content includes map packs, player skins and extra cooperative stages. For those of you, like myself, who missed out on picking up a copy the first time round, this is definitely the edition for you.

The Uncharted series was the reason I bought a PS3 well that and Metal Gear Solid 4. Each game in the series has improved over it’s predecessor but UC2 was so close to perfection, it was hard for this game to trump it. No it didn’t quite but it was just as enjoyable as UC2 even if the main villian and her plan wasn’t fleshed-out enough. However adding in the Young Drake and his first meeting with his longtime friend and mentor, Victor Sullivan was a brilliant move. If you want to see the technical brilliance by the programming wizards at Naughty Dog, this game is the one to show off and make all your non-PS3 owner friends jealous.

  Thanks for the awesome comment : ) Personally, I’ve yet to play the series and to be honest I don’t have a PlayStation 3 just yet. The only reason why I’m getting one is for Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us. Since mentioning it on Twitter, alot of people have been emphasizing the UC series as well. Looks like it’ll be the UC series, GoW series, and The Last of Us. And you’re right, I’m currently jealous lol

    When I got my new LCD for the living room I needed a Blue Ray player and I already owned an X360 but I always wanted to play some of those PS3 titles that had me drooling so I killed two birds with one stone. With the PS3 I got my BR player and a kick-ass gaming console – I love both of my consoles for different reasons – both play incredible games but I give a slight edge to my Xbox for cheevos and gamer score rewards.

        Probably not going to be getting this version since I own the game when it was launched and all this extra content is mostly multiplayer related which I don’t bother with.

        This is perfect for gamers like me who have yet to pick up the game. I can’t wait to dive into the series! Any tips for someone new to the franchise?

        If your new to the franchise I would highly recommend you play the series in order. While each Uncharted game has a self contained story, the main characters share a history that spans across the games. It’s also great to see the evolution of the series by playing them in order. While the first Uncharted: Drakes Fortune was great the two follow-up games are leaps and bounds better in nearly every area that counts. You should be able to get the first two Uncharted games in a bundle for a great low price.
