Uncover Secrets in Rain

Rain is a new title officially announced at Gamescom by the people that will soon bring you The Puppeteer. The story can be summed up quite simply: boy sees girl, boy loses girl, boy runs through the rain and tries to find girl. Alright, too vague? Let me elaborate on the concept.

In Rain, you play a boy who is captivated by a young, invisible girl, wondering through the streets, made visible by the rain. The boy becomes so intrigued, he begins to follow her. Unbeknownst to him, he too becomes invisible, traveling too deep into her mysterious world of continuous rain with the sole purpose of discovering who she is (a prime example of how love is blind).

In the video below, we see the boy as he searches endlessly for the unknown girl, all the while trying to avoid ethereal monsters and creatures that try and impede his mission. The game has a bitter sweet feel to it; the somber atmosphere and overcast city is countered by an innocent yet forbidden love story told by the young adventurers. Check out the trailer below to get a sneak peek at this hauntingly beautiful game.

PSN seems to be the place for indie devs right now. It’s so cool Sony is giving all those games, that walk off the beaten path, a place and chance to shine on PSN.

Agreed! The world of gaming could definitely do with some ‘newness’ so kudos to Sony for allowing, as you said, indie devs to do just that. PS: Thanks for commenting. Really appreciate it : )

My thoughts exactly. Well said Phantom and Rich. Sound Scapes, Papo & Yo, Rain… Indie is certainly making a splash this decade and I couldn’t be happier to see this movement gain such momentum. The gaming industry could use fresh new content in the market rather than the same ‘ol AAA titles dominating year round.
