GAMING Q&A

When did you play your first game and what was it?
I played my first game when I was about 10. I had a super Nintendo and F-Zero racing game. I loved it and after playing that I wanted to try all kinda of games. It’s funny how far games have come from those days.

What first attracted you to the world of gaming?
I had always heard my friends talking about their games and how fun it was. I begged my mom forever but she wouldn’t cave. Finally when I was 11 she did and I was hooked! I would always have friends over to play. That was the main thing I liked, being able to play with friends.

What’s your fondest gaming memory?
My favorite gaming memory was the first time I played Halo CE. I was like a little kid on Christmas. I had never seen anything like it. Everything about the game stood out to me visuals, gameplay, story, and characters. All that plus the fact you could play with friends sealed the deal. I’ll never forget how I felt playing through the story for the first time. It was perfect and I’ve loved all the Halo games since then.

Any advice for new gamers?
Try everything you can, unless it doesn’t quite appeal to you. Don’t play so much that it consumes your life though. Getting competitive is a great thing and so is playing with friends.

He may or may not be Batman

GAMING Q&A

When did you play your first game and what was it?
Wow, first game would have been a long time ago for me! I remember playing the first Sonic the Hedgehog on the Megadrive back in 1991. I was five, but I was already addicted to gaming. Good times!

What first attracted you to the world of gaming?
The 90s were a real golden age for gaming. 2D platformers and beat-em-ups were my first love, then the third demension gave me Super Mario 64, Die Hard Trilogy and everything came after. Video games are a constantly evolving art form that excite me, annoy me but captivate me every single time.

What’s your fondest gaming memory?
When I was a kid I used to have an N64 with Goldeneye and a mate had a PlayStation with Tekken 2. Every day after school we’d race home to either of our houses for a game of Bond-esque deathmatch or a blood-drenched fight-a-thon with Yoshimitsu & co. This was when games went from something I’d always enjoyed to something I loved with a fiery passion.

Any advice for new gamers?
Just take the plunge. Play every game you come across, find your tastes and enjoy the vertitable smorgasbord that are the many generations of gaming.
